I started to paint just a few years ago. It was more by accident although creativity has been a big part of my life and mostly involved textiles.
My Art – I have an interest in colour, shape, form, texture, line , mark and layering of different materials.
There is a real enjoyment for me in exploring and discovering new things. New ways of applying paint, collage, pens, crayons, textile or other things I have found to be of interest. I also like problem solving and the question “What If’ is always there.
I love the process of making a painting and not really knowing where it’s taking me. It is like a long conversation or going on an exploration walk in a new city or town to find out what’s around the corner. It can be challenging and messy at times but the reward is great when I have worked through the ugly part. Most of the time there is an ugly and messy part for me when making a painting. One painting will have several layers of paint/collage etc. before it is finished.
For me it is important that the buyer get something special and for me that means original art. Only one piece made.
